Bloaty Bloaterson
I think it's too early for me to be showing. I'm in my 10th week, and most other women I know who are pregnant say they started showing between their 15th and 20th weeks. What does this mean? In my always-paranoid mind, of course, this immediately signals some sort of trouble. Possible complicated scenarios I've developed for myself include:

1. That I'm really carrying twins. One was hiding behind the other on the sono, so the doctor only saw one.

2. My baby has developed an abnormally large head and I will be the mother of a future circus side show act.

3. What I'm carrying is not actually a baby, and I will give birth to a juicy ten-pound watermelon this autumn.

4. Other as-yet undetermined crisis stories that could be gleaned from the internet with a little digging.

I've gained a total of four and a half pounds since this pregnancy began, taking me from 123 to 127.5 as of this morning. I think it's the most I've ever weighed in my life. Of course, as one friend put it, I do have a small frame, and a few extra pounds really will show on me. I guess that sounds right. Really, I'm not being vain here, just... concerned. (And ok, perhaps just a touch vain.)

I'm at an odd point where I feel bloated a lot of the time, like I couldn't fit one more morsel of food inside me, yet I haven't even really eaten that much, and I'm hungry to boot. I'm not sure how to overcome that, but in the short-term, my gut (heh heh) tells me to just eat, dammit, so that's what I'm off to do.
