I'm Not A Magician
Last Sunday when my family was over, my parents told us that they were planning a Mediterranean cruise around Italy for next fall. September would be too hot, and November would be too cold, so they're planning to go in October. But they want to be around for Pumpkin's first birthday, so they don't quite know how to schedule it.
My mother says that she'll just wait until after the baby is born -- it'll give them a year and that should be plenty of time. My dad, however is going through serious Italy withdrawal (he hasn't been there since last May, the poor dear) and *really* wants to get the trip booked. Because, you know, Italy might go away in the meantime if he doesn't book the cruise.
Dad: So, when's your due date again?
Me: October 19.
Dad: So, if we left on the 24th, that should buy us time, right?
Me: Well, I guess. But you know, it's kind of up to the baby at this point.
Dad: But that's almost a week after your due date.
Me: You're right. She should know better.
