4:12 p.m. - 2006-08-03 Have you ever heard old people talk about sciatica, maybe in the same breath as constipation and corns? Luckily, the latter two aren't a problem for me, but I can't believe I'm 32 years old and reporting, a la Grandma, that my sciatica is acting up. What is the repulsive-sounding syndrome, you ask? It's not nearly as bad as it sounds, but it's painful. Basically, it affects the nerves (sciatic nerves) that run down your spine, through your buttocks, and down the back of your legs. I'm feeling it in my right cheek and back of the right thigh, probably because La Mademoiselle Funk is sitting right on there. Everytime I get up from my chair, I realize I have to pee like a racehorse, so I lumber down the hallway to the restroom, only even more pathetic-looking than before, because I feel that damn nerve pulling with each step. Other than that, all is well. 11 more weeks as of today! Though I'm trying to convince her that moving out a little early (just 2-3 weeks) wouldn't be an unwelcome gesture on her part. I keep telling her it's way more fun out here, and that she'll have so much more room to punch and kick than inside her current quarters.
