Bloody Horror Picture Show
This is what I think of every time I hear the delightful, quaint pregnancy term "bloody show." Bloody show is associated with mucus plug loss, two things I never really thought I'd experience, but now I'm wondering if, indeed, I've become, well, unplugged. The last two trips to the bathroom revealed some brownish spotting -- is this a sign that labor is around the corner?
In other good news, at my check-up this morning, I learned that I'm now 75% effaced and 1 cm dilated, proving that, indeed, I do own a cervix!
I dragged Joe to my appointment, because I was also planning to tell the doctor that I wanted to schedule my induction for 10/27, to avoid a Halloween birth, and figured that Joe would be able to back me up in case I got any pushback about that date being too early. But the doctor readily agreed to it, and it's official: if my Pumpkin pie doesn't come out on her own before then, I'm scheduled for an induction at 7:00 am on Friday, 10/27 -- two weeks away. The light at the end of this 9-month tunnel has never looked so bright.
